This computer is a combination of an Alienware X51 from 2012 with more recent components. The motherboard, the processor and the RAM sticks
from the X51 are completed by a brand new case, GPU and a power supply that allows for a few more upgrades. The current goal of this computer is to serve as an emulation
station to play games up to GC/Wii (U) and PS2.
This computer has been offered to me by the region Languedoc-Roussillon when I entered high school in 2012. It is a custom edition of the Dell
Vostro V131, which explains the logo and the color. It now runs Lubuntu, has a couple bumps but I still keep it for nostalgia.
Here is the computer I bought when I entered university to replace my LoRdi. I appreciate its weight and very good autonomy because I use it a lot in the bus
and in class to take notes or code.
This is an upgrade from the Raspberry Pi 3B I used for the Guitar Hero game. I use it to play gameboy (Advance) or SNES games but it also has a couple
Megadrive (such as Mega Turrican) and arcade games (MK, Metal Slug,...)
I use these 3 controllers with very specific uses:
Modded Steam Controller: 3D printed back cover so I can keep the USB dongle with the controller. I use it for playing emulated game on my Raspberry Pi
since Retropie does not accept input from the next controller.
Hyperkin X91 Mega Man Edition: It is an official XBox controller so I can use it on my emulation PC to play mostly GC or PS games.
3rd Party GC Controller (with Wii U/PC adapter): I use it to play GC games where the controller matters (so SSB Melee)
I have 2 screens of 20" and 23". My peripherals are all Logitech:
Keyboard: G910 Orion Spark
Mouse: G502 Proteus Spectrum
Headset: G403 Surround
Speakers: Z130 (to play loud heavy metal)
My mouse pad is a CS:GO mousepad with a Hyper Beast design.
My Alienware X51 was starting to show its limits so I had to replace it. I bought components over 2 years to get them
at the best price so this PC is overall very cheap regarding its specs. It has a Ryzen 2700x, a GTX 1070 and 16Gb of DDR4 memory at 3000Mhz.
I use it for gaming of course but I prefer it over my laptop when I'm home due to the fact it is much faster and using 2 screens is very convenient.
